Merchandising Assistant

Work Location: Kota Damansara, Selangor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Preparing Reports & Purchase Orders:
    • Handling orders from outlets, assisting with inventories, networking with vendors, preparing purchase orders and issue POs, send POs to suppliers, liaise with suppliers to make sure stocks arrive on time.
    • Support the Department in administrative tasks, including preparing purchase orders,
    • Engage with operations, warehouse, forwarders to ensure timely delivery of stocks.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Sales & Customer Service
    • Actively approach and engage with customers to promote products.
    • Demonstrate product knowledge and provide recommendations to customers.
    • Achieve individual and outlet sales targets set by Management.
    • Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent after-sales service.
    • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the shop and surrounding area.

  2. Merchandising & Display
    • Ensure products are displayed neatly, attractively, and according to company guidelines.
    • Replenish product displays promptly to avoid stock-outs.
    • Monitor product freshness, packaging, and expiry dates (if applicable).

  3. Stock & Inventory
    • Participate in scheduled stock count exercises (daily, weekly, monthly, or annual as required).
    • Assist in verifying physical stock against system records.
    • Report stock discrepancies or damages to the shop in-charge.
    • Ensure accuracy and accountability during the stock take process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

  1. Minimum: SPM / O-Level / equivalent.
  2. 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing or production line (preferred).
  3. Fresh graduates or school leavers with strong interest in manufacturing may also be considered.
  4. Can speak Malay or English.
  5. Good physical condition (standing for long hours, handling raw materials).
  6. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  7. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime if required.
  8. Team player with good communication skills.
  9. Responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Production Operations:
    • Operate chocolate processing and packing machines (e.g. mixers, tempering machines, moulding equipment).
    • Prepare raw materials according to production schedules.
    • Monitor temperature, timing, and mixing processes for quality control.
    • Load and unload materials from production lines.

  2. Quality & Hygiene:
    • Conduct visual checks to ensure product quality.
    • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area according to hygiene standards.
    • Report any product or machinery defects to supervisor immediately.

  3. Record Keeping:
    • Complete production records and log sheets accurately.
    • Track material usage and report discrepancies.

  4. Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
    • Participate in safety drills and training sessions.

  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with maintenance, quality control, and warehouse teams.
    • Support other production tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
